It is important to know what tourism is, it refers to the activities that people carry out when they visit places other than their usual environment and the visit is not related to paid activities.
Tourists who travel to the interior of the country they reside are called national tourists. On the other hand, if the destination of the trip is a country other than the country of residence, they are classified as international tourists.
For Mexico, tourism represents an important part of our economy with 8.7%. For this reason the country was ranked for the first time as one of the most visited in the world.
International visitors in Mexico make up 82%.
The national tourist spends an average expenditure of 2 thousand 94 pesos per trip and the most visited places are Xochimilco, Mexico City, Huasteca Potosina in San Luis Potosí and Guanajuato.
